Maria's Missions Monthly - August

So.... as you can see, the past month has been absolutely CRAZY busy!!!! I am writing my August update post... in September. Oi. Ha!

This past August, Matthew and I flew into Denver from Hawaii (where Matthew had his Annual Training), and a few hours later began our trip to Austin, TX. We spent some time there and then headed to Lubbock, TX for an "after-the-wedding" wedding shower! We were humbled by all of the love and support that was shown to us there. We then made our way back to Denver to prepare for our busy semester!

On August 16th, I began my job as a barista at Starbucks and boy was I in for a surprise! I was very overwhelmed by all of the things I needed to learn quickly, and often had to ask for help. Thankfully the staff is incredibly nice, and they understand how overwhelming it can be in the beginning.

Thankfully, the shock of all the information that I need to learn is coming to an end and I am able to ask less questions, but the questions are NOT over! :)

The pastor at South Fellowship recently talked about questions in one of my favorite sermons I've heard at this church. You can find that sermon here.

South Fellowship is a church that has felt like home from Day 1! I am super excited to get involved there, and will let you know what Matthew and I finalize on as my ministry opportunities there! As I can easily be an overcommitted, Matthew has agreed to help me in keeping my life in a good balance.

Matthew has recently started his Fall semester and is taking A LOT of hours! Please keep him in your prayers!

Also, for an update on marriage, Matthew and I are doing GREAT! We continue to learn more and more about ourselves and each other, and our love and respect for each other continue to grow stronger. We are so thankful for your thoughts and prayers through this journey, and it is only by them that we are able to learn more how to love like God loves us!

Thank you for all of your love, support, prayers and understanding! You are truly, truly loved!

To God be the glory!
