Maria's Missions Monthly - October

Oh, October.
What an interesting month you were.

This past October, Matthew and I moved out of the church basement we had been living in, and are now house and dog-sitting for a couple who will be out-of-town till May! It has been an absolute joy to be in a place we can actually move around in comfortably!

We have already been able to host some get-togethers with friends, and we are falling more in love with the dog, Domino, each and every day. We will be sad to leave, but we know God has a plan for us.

This past October, I began noticing some symptoms of depression in myself. I was constantly tired, found myself not hungry (which is weird for me... this girl can EAT!), and I found myself in a very negative mindset... especially when I was alone.

On Oct 31, I was able to talk to the counselor Matthew and I have been seeing for marriage counseling, and we discussed my current state. Thankfully, he understood and mentioned his wife had actually gone through severe depression when they got married. Not long after they found out she was suffering, my counselor found out he had a mild state of depression.

I say this to let you know that if you are going through depression... a lot of other people are too! You are not alone, and you don't have to be alone through this.  For more advice on depression, check out my post on "10 Ways to Fight Depression" and "5 EOs to Help Fight Depression".

For those of you praying for Matthew and I, I ask that you please pray for guidance for both the short and long-term. We are seeking a "home" church and are remaining open to what God chooses to reveal to us. And please pray for both of us as I continue to fight against the ugly beast we call, depression.

For those of you looking for more blogs to check out, you can find some good advice at https://godfidencediary.wordpress.com. Check out Diane's blogs, and see what God has done in and through her life!

Thank you for the love, support, and encouragement from all of you.

May God bless you abundantly!
