10 Easy Ways I Use Peppermint Essential Oil:

My "Most Used" Oil

The peppermint essential oil is definitely my "most used" oil. I use it when I have a headache, gas, and even for sore muscles. Below are some 10 easy ways to use the peppermint essential oil.

Topically- 

HEADACHES: Whenever I feel a headache coming on, I immediately grab my peppermint essential oil and dab it on whenever I feel the headache emerging. I also will put a drop or two in the palm of my hands and will rub my hands together then inhale that aroma.  It's so weird, you can usually feel your headache change in your head somehow.

Now, this doesn't always "fix" my headaches, but it does HELP!

GAS: I also will use peppermint whenever I have gas issues going on. I'll put a drop into my hands and rub that onto my belly and back.  This usually helps the gas "come to the surface" if you know what I mean.

SORE MUSCLES: I will also use this oil on sore muscles. It causes a cooling sensation on weary, tired muscles.

COOL OFF: On hot days, rub a drop or two on the back of your neck to keep you cool. This REALLY, REALLY works! This could be beneficial to ladies going through heat flashes as well!

FEVER: If ever I or my husband have a fever, I will immediately put some peppermint on the forehead and back of neck. I'll also put a cool rag on both places after I put the peppermint on. This seems to really help!


Internally- 

IN WATER: Put 1 drop of peppermint into a cold glass of water, and get a super refreshing drink, (I do this often.) or put 1 drop of peppermint into a hot glass of water and make a fresh peppermint tea!

IN COFFEE/MOCHA/HOT CHOCOLATE: Put 1 drop of peppermint into your morning coffee, mocha, or hot chocolate to add something different to your usual! Make your mocha a "peppermint mocha" with just one drop!

VEGGIE CAPSULES: Each morning I make a veggie capsule for myself with a variety of oils, and peppermint is almost ALWAYS in there. Apparently my body just needs peppermint, so I do the best to please my body so that I'll be happy too.


Aromatically- 

IN THE DIFFUSER: Use peppermint aromatically by diffusing it in your favorite diffuser! This give a fresh scent to the room!

IN THE CAR: If you were to go on a long car ride, I would recommend getting the "Orb Diffuser" from Young Living and diffusing some peppermint in the car when you need to stay awake for a long period of time. It does a pretty fantastic job at keeping me awake!

* Make sure to not touch in or around your eye when dealing with peppermint! If you do, DO NOT use water. Find a carrier oil (such as coconut oil) to help get the oil out. You can put the oil on a Q-tip and put it near your eye to draw out the oil. #beentheredonethat
