Must-Read Monday - Jesus Storybook Bible

If you hang out in the Kid's Ministry at your church, you've most likely heard of the The Jesus Storybook Bible. This is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE kids Bible. And here's why (in no particular order):


1.) The Jesus Storybook Bible has 45 stories that are actually fun to read to/with kids! 

Each story ends with Christ in mind. It's amazing how the author, Sally Lloyd-Jones, found a way to mention Jesus in every single story. It shows kids that the Bible points to Christ Jesus, and also that God had a plan from even the time of creation. What a great thing for kids to learn!


2.) The artistry is fantastic in this Bible! 

It is no longer the typical "white boy Jesus" that many of us grew up with. Somehow the illustrator, Jago, was able to make no specific race the "star of the show"! The artistry is simple, yet eye-catching, and was done very well.


3.) Kids love this Bible! 

I read from this Bible when I teach MOPS at my church, and each student stays fixed on it as I read. Some kids get so into it that they cry when people die. (This happened last week when we read about Pharaoh's son dying from his stubbornness.) I also have a student who reads this at home and can finish the sentences before I can!


4.) This book works really well when teaching children at church. 

You can read the story, ask some questions, and then do an activity or snack to go along with the lesson!


5.) This book is also a great book to use if you make your own curriculum in Kid's Ministry.

 I used this book in my Kids Ministry to set a tone for the entire school year. I was even able to match up the "Christmas stories" told during the Christmas season, as well as the "Easter stories" to be told during Easter. It really does work great!




So as you can see, I love this Children's Bible for Kid's Ministry. Heck! I have learned new things while reading it. It's a great book to use, and I hope you'll get your copy soon!
