Sunday School Sunday - A new beginning
Grab your Jesus Storybook Bible! It's time for another Sunday School activity!
Now, turn to "a new beginning" in the book.
This lesson is about Noah, and the promises God keeps! Therefore, today we are going to make a rainbow... God's sign-in-the-sky to remind us that He will never flood the whole earth again!
First, we'll take a blank sheet of copy paper...
draw 4 curved lines, and then connect those lines with a straight line at the bottom (like so).
Next, draw 2 clouds. Make sure they will be big enough to cover the bottom each rainbow edge.
I recommend doing this once and then copying this page as many times as you need on a copy machine.
Now the kids can color in their rainbows!
If you'd like to do a lesson on the actual order of the rainbow, you can, or you can let them make whatever color rainbow their little heart's desire.
Once the rainbow is complete, cut out the clouds and rainbow.
Now, turn over the rainbow and clouds, and connect them using a piece of tape, securing both sides.
Yay! You now have a rainbow!
If you'd like, you can add some lines to the clouds to make it look more fluffy, write the kids names, and even write the title of the story onto the rainbow.
You can also write something like, "God's promise." or whatever you'd like!
Another way of creating a rainbow is using a paper plate, but I didn't have a white one around, so I used copy machine paper! The possibilities are endless!
If you had ribbon, yarn, or any craft supplies, the kids might enjoy adding those to their rainbow too!
Think like a kid, be an awesome teacher!
