Thrifty Thursday - Simple (yet effective) bath salt gift ideas
Need a quick gift for a friend, but don't have the funds to even get a gift card?!?!
Here's a way to make and give a simple (yet effective)
bath salt gift that your friend is sure to LOVE!!!!
P.S. - You don't HAVE to give them to anyone if you don't want to. I've kept and used a good many of these creations, and I'm obsessed!!!
First step, go to Hobby Lobby. You can find all kinds of containers that are cute and cheap in the glass section! They're even cheaper when they are on sale (which happens just about one week every month) or you can use your 40% off weekly coupon (that you get in your e-mail if you 're signed up to receive e-mails... which I highly recommend).
I've found jars with scoops which is PERFECT for this craft!
Pick your favorite (or what you're sure will be your friend's favorite). If you'd like, you can also find some plastic gift sacks and ribbons to package your masterpiece. Feel free to grab a tag, or make your own out of string and paper!
Next, head to Walmart and get some of Dr. Teal's epsom salt. Try to get some that doesn't have a scent, I recommend the one with coconut oil in it. (That with some stress away is GLORIOUS!!!!!)
Now, head home.
Once you're home, grab a bowl (that isn't plastic), and throw some epsom salt in there. Now it's time for those essential oils to come out! I use lavender, frankincense, stress away, and ylang ylang.
Put several drops into the epsom salt and mix around.
Place the mixed epsom salt into the container and put a lid on it.
Feel free to add a tag or wrap it however you fancy!
And... you're done!
Ta Da!!!!!
If you're looking at making some gifts for a lot of friends, make these!!!!
Do the same steps as above, but put them in these little containers that you can find at Sams. This gift is great to use a vary of essential oils with! You can use a gift sack to put them all together and make a great, cheap gift for a friend, family member, or even coworker!
Again, feel free to keep this for yourself, too if you'd rather. Whatever you like.
* Make sure to use essential oils that would be nice in a bath! You'll want to stay away from "hot" and "cold" oils such as cinnamon bark and peppermint or panaway.
Have some fun with it! Experiment safely, and enjoy some amazing baths in your near future.
Cheers!
These make great gifts. Even small ones are appreciated! Good idea Maria! Thanks! I need to make some of these soon!
