Fearless Friday - Going to Counseling

A few days ago, I wasn't doing so good emotionally/mentally/spiritually. I was really down and felt like there was nothing I could do about it.

I've been overly busy the past few weeks, and I had hit a wall where I couldn't even think straight. My emotions were shot, I didn't know how to communicate, and I began to think of unreasonable thoughts.

That's when I realized, it was time to see a counselor again.

. . .

Going to counseling is such a divided thing in today's world. Most of us think it's a good and healthy thing to do. But when it's your turn to go, you feel ashamed or embarrassed, as if something's wrong with YOU and no-one else!

. . .

If you don't feel well, what do you do? You go to the doctor, right? Why is that any different for your mind?

If you're not doing/feeling well, it's the smart/wise thing to go see someone about it.

. . .

Embracing the practice of going to counseling has given me so much freedom, help, and understanding... more than I could have ever imagined!

It reminds me that I am more "normal" than I think I am sometimes.

I do recommend finding a Christian counselor, and it's AWEOMSE if you can get a recommendation from someone you know and trust! It can take some looking around and trying out different counselors, but when you find a good one, you'll know it!

. . .

Fearlessly go, find a counselor when you need help, and be as open as you possibly can be. You'll be amazed at the relief you can feel by just going to one counseling session.

TGBTG

Cheers!
