Must-Read Monday - The Easiest Bible Translation To Understand

So... Bibles come in different translations. They are not all the same.

A different group of people wrote each version, and therefore have a different writing style much like  how students in a classroom would have a different "voice" in a written essay.

There are King James Version (KJV) Bibles, New International Version (NIV) Bibles, English Standard Version (ESV) Bibles, and so much more!

. . .

The translations I normally use are the New International Version (NIV), Contemporary English Version (CEV), and The Message.

. . .

New International Version (NIV):

I typically use my NIV Bible for my daily quiet time. This is a pretty easy-read Bible, but does maintain a lot of detailed content within it.

Contemporary English Version (CEV):

The CEV Bible is the Bible I would say is the easiest translation to understand. This is the Bible I use when teaching a children's sermon because it is a lot easier to follow along. It has fewer big words, and often uses now-a-day terms that you would easily understand.

The Message:

The Message Bible is also an easy translation to read, but it is almost too muddled down. I often will use this version if I am looking to read the Bible with a more novel-type feel.

I would not recommend The Message Bible version to be the only Bible that you read.
It is a nice breather from how some of the other versions are written,
but is not fully accurate in some scenarios.

. . .

I also do not recommend the King James Version (KJV) Bible if you are a beginning in your faith journey. This is a very difficult Bible to read though there are Christians who believe it is the only version that should be read!

. . .

Check out different versions, see which one speaks to you, and go with that for now. You can always change to a different version later if you'd like. As long as you're reading the Word, God can speak to you through it. So, read often and remember to listen!
