Must-Read Monday - a modern way to eat

a modern way to eat by Anna Jones is one of my FAVORITE cookbooks (and I don't really cook).

. . .

As I've been aiming for a healthier diet, I have glanced through all kinds of cookbooks to find them putting xanthan gum and what not IN their recipes!

Gross.

Xanthan gum is defined as:

polysaccharide with many industrial uses, including as a common food additive. It is an effective thickening agent and stabilizer to prevent ingredients from separating. It can be produced from simple sugars using a fermentation process, and derives its name from the species of bacteria used, Xanthomonas campestris.

. . .

Jones doesn't include any of these "fermented stabilizers" in her recipes.

She includes a few words before each recipe and also includes substitutions for whatever you'd rather... including gluten free options!

If you're seeking a healthier diet, I definitely recommend this book to help get you started!

The recipes are fantastic, and the feel of the book is quite nice too!

You can find this book on amazon here!

Cheers!
