Sunday School Sunday - A giant staircase to heaven

... teaching the Tower of Babel...

Today we're going to be making a craft inspired by the "a giant staircase in heaven" story
from the Jesus Storybook Bible.

First, we'll take a single piece of copy paper.

Draw a line about 1-2 inches from the bottom. You'll want this line to be pretty straight!

Next, color in the area (whatever color you please) and then if you'd like,
draw lines to make it appear to be bricks.

Now, cut this section off of the page...

like so. 

Next, add a piece of tape to the end and then fold it over so that it creates what will be a handle.

Starting with the "handle side", use a colored pencil to roll the strip of paper, making sure to keep it tight throughout the process.



Once it's rolled up all the way...

secure it with a piece of tape.

Take it off of the pencil...

and voila! 

You now have a tower...

that stretches all the way to the sky!
(just by holding onto the base, and pulling the handle up)

*Tip - Sometimes you will have to twist the tower into itself for it to go back in.
