Fearless Friday - Love Your Friends

Friends are the family we get to choose!

There's nothing like having a good, close friend.

Having friends can be hard sometimes. We become vulnerable with these people that could take that vulnerability and smash it into a millions pieces in a split second! Yet, we do it anyways.

There are 3 ways we can love our friends in Jesus' name:

1.) Love one another. 

"A new command I give you: Love one another. 

As I have loved you, so you must love one another." 

- John 13:34

The Lord COMMANDS us to love one another as He has loved us. 

That's unconditionally... even when that person does something against you... even when that person has upset you... even when that person has changed to become someone else... we are commanded to love them in Jesus' name. 

2.) Encourage one another. 

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."

- 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Friends can be GREAT encouragers! Friends know you, and you know them. You know what they're good at, so tell them! Encourage their dreams, hopes, and goals! 

Do what you can to show that you care. 

Not only will this make them incredibly happy, it'll most likely make you happy too. 

3.) Be kind to one another. 

"Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

 - Proverbs 16:24

There are a lot of cruel people in this world. Be kind to your friends, and let your words be sweet like honey. Even when it feels cheesy... say whatever kind words come into your mind. Let your friends know that you enjoy spending time with them and that you look forward to seeing them again. It's amazing what a simple kind word can do to a person's soul. Be that kind person to them today.

If you want to fearlessly love your friends; love them, encourage them, and be kind to them... 

and do it all in Jesus' name.
