Thrifty Thursday - Keep Things Like New!
Another thing I've learned from my husband is to keep things as good as new!
I have never really done this until I married him.
My husband likes to take REALLY good care of the things he owns.
. . .
His vehicle still looks just like it did when he bought it years ago.
His motorcycle looks like it did when he bought it years ago.
Even the furniture he bought years ago looks like he might have bought it yesterday!
. . .
He does a really good job at keeping things like new which saves us money in a number of ways.
1 - Keeping things "like new" allows you to keep items longer, thus not having to buy new things more frequently.
2 - When things are "like new", it is easier to sell it when you desire a change.
3 - As you keep things "like new", you are revealing to God that you are a good steward of the things He has blessed you with!
. . .
Though it can be slightly (or incredibly) irritating to do, keeping things like new really does pay off in the end!
. . .
If something in your vehicle breaks, go get it fixed now. Don't wait. The longer you wait, the more something could get damaged, and the more money you might have to pay!
It's really hard to do at first, especially if you're someone like me who thinks, "it'll be fine!"
Get things fixed now so that you won't have to pay more later.
. . .
This is a language my husband is fluent in, and I'm still having to learn. Join me in learning how keeping things like new can save money and please God.
TGBTG
Cheers!
